Oil application method for chains

3. Advanced level of oiling: "dry fly wet chain".
What does that mean? Good oiling makes it difficult for people to see that they have been oiled, rather than being oily. As long as there is oil between the joints of the chain (usually around 110 joints, haha), there should be no oil exposed in other areas. The oil exposed outside can easily stick to dust and sand. Remember, it is best to apply oil and wipe it with a cloth. That's all.
4 . WD40 is a lightweight mineral oil that can only be used for low load lubrication and is very suitable for cleaning chains. If no chain oil is applied after cleaning, the WD40 chain will become dry and rough shortly after use, and the oil film strength will be insufficient, resulting in faster wear (of course, it can also be sprayed and washed every one or two rides)
5. Some novice drivers love to use it, but professional books often specifically mention that it is not suitable for bicycle chains. This oil is not suitable for high-speed operation, and it is easy to get dirty, wear down the chain, and easily thrown out.
6. Engine oil and other mechanical oils, this type of oil has good fluidity (good lubricity), but it is also prone to being thrown everywhere and getting dusty. It is better not to use it
7. Spray butter, which has insufficient permeability and cannot provide lubrication inside the chain shaft, and is too prone to dust.
